To ensure a fair and exciting competition, all contestants must follow the rules outlined below. By entering Connacht’s Got Talent 2025, you agree to abide by these guidelines.
1. Eligibility
Open to solo singers, bands, choirs, and traditional musicians from Connacht (Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Galway, and Leitrim).
Contestants must be at least 16 years old by June 7, 2025.
Bands/choirs may have members under 16, but the main applicant must be 16+.
Contestants must be available for the live competition at the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on June 7, 2025.
Previous professional recording artists (signed to major labels) are not eligible.
2. Audition & Selection Process
All contestants must submit an audition video via online upload to the freefilmway link on our website before March 28th.
Audition videos can be a pre-recorded vocal.
The top 14 finalists will be selected by a panel of judges.
Contestants will be notified by early May if selected for the final event on June 7th.
3. Performance Rules
Each contestant/band/choir must perform one song of their choice.
Songs must be family-friendly (no explicit lyrics or inappropriate content).
Performances must not exceed 4 minutes.
Contestants may perform original songs or covers (must credit original artists).
Backing tracks are allowed but must not include pre-recorded lead vocals.
4. Final Competition Format & Judging
The 14 finalists will perform live on June 7, 2025 at the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar.

Vocal/Musical Ability
Stage Presence & Performance
Originality & Creativity
Audience Engagement
The winner will be decided by a combination of judge scoring, and online and audience votes.
5. Technical & Stage Requirements
Microphones and basic sound equipment will be provided.
Contestants requiring additional instrument setup, backing tracks, or special equipment must inform the event organisers in advance.
Soundcheck & rehearsal times will be scheduled before the event.
6. Code of Conduct
Contestants must conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Any form of bullying, discrimination, or misconduct will result in immediate disqualification.
Contestants must adhere to all venue rules and health & safety guidelines.
7. Promotion & Media Consent
Contestants agree to allow Connacht’s Got Talent to use their name, photos, and performance videos for promotional purposes.
Contestants may be featured in media interviews, social media promotions, and event advertisements.
8. Prizes & Winner Selection
The winner of Connacht’s Got Talent 2025 will receive studio recording session, a professional photo shoot, and airtime.
Runner-up prizes may also be awarded.
9. Disqualification & Rule Violations
Contestants will be disqualified for:
Submitting false information on their application
Performing inappropriate or offensive material
Engaging in misconduct or violating the Code of Conduct
10. Agreement & Acceptance
By entering Connacht’s Got Talent 2025, contestants agree to abide by these rules and accept that all decisions made by the event organisers and judges are final.
